Major Nanomaterials Engineering

2023/2024, First-cycle (engineer) programme, Full-time studies

Kierunek "Nanoinżynieria materiałów" pozwoli absolwentowi na uzyskanie praktycznej wiedzy w zakresie wytwarzania, badania i modelowania nanomateriałów mających zastosowanie w wielu dziedzinach nowoczesnej gospodarki. W szczególności, nanomateriały o odpowiednio zaprojektowanych właściwościach znajdują zastosowanie w przemyśle elektronicznym (kropki kwantowe w wyświetlaczach LCD i OLED; układy opto-elektroniczne; sensory i przetworniki), kosmetycznym (filtry UV, barwniki), chemicznym (kataliza w różnorakich reakcjach; modyfikowanie właściwości tworzyw i polimerów; pokrycia funkcjonalne), farmaceutycznym (inteligentne dostarczanie leków; terapie anty-nowotworowe; pokrycia biokompatybilne na implanty), metalurgicznym (pokrycia ochronne i funkcjonalne), energetycznym (magazynowanie i konwersja energii) oraz przemyśle tzw. wysokich technologii. Ta ostatnia dziedzina jest bodaj najszybciej rozwijającą się gałęzią przemysłu oferującą produkty będące do niedawna w sferze science-fiction. Jest to możliwe dzięki ogromnemu postępowi w inżynierii na poziomie atomowym (nanoinżynierii) pozwalającej na miniaturyzację układów już znanych oraz wytwarzanie nowych, inteligentnych materiałów i układów. Studenci oprócz zapoznania się z zagadnieniami związanymi z nanomateriałami i nanostrukturami zdobędą umiejętności pracy z zaawansowanymi urządzeniami i metodami obliczeniowymi służącymi do wytwarzania, badania, funkcjonalizacji oraz projektowania i optymalizacji układów o możliwościach wykraczających poza obecny stan techniki. Program studiów czerpie z zaplecza naukowego dwóch wydziałów AGH: Fizyki i Informatyki Stosowanej oraz Inżynierii Materiałowej i Ceramiki, które posiadają najwyższą kategorię naukową A+, co gwarantuje najwyższy poziom kształcenia.

Studia pierwszego stopnia na kierunku "Nanoinżynieria materiałów" mają na celu wypromowanie i wprowadzenie na rynek pracy grupy dobrze i wszechstronnie wykształconych inżynierów ukierunkowanych na zastosowania badań podstawowych w innowacyjnych gałęziach gospodarki opartych na nanoinżynierii.

Należy podkreślić, że wiedza zdobyta przez uczestników tych studiów wpisuje się w obecnie panujące trendy w wiodących gospodarkach światowych. Tym samym perspektywa zatrudnienia absolwentów kierunku "Nanoinżynieria materiałów" w sektorze państwowym, prywatnym bądź w jednostkach badawczo-rozwojowych w kraju i zagranicą staje się realna, gdyż specjaliści tej klasy będą poszukiwani przez pracodawców w celu zwiększenia konkurencyjności ich firm na rynku nowoczesnych materiałów i technologii.
