Geophysics
Nabyta wiedza z zakresu stosowania metod geofizycznych pozwala absolwentom kierunku Geofizyka na wykorzystanie tych metod do zadań poszukiwawczych i inżynierskich. Ponadto absolwenci potrafią zaprojektować i wykonać badania geofizyczne dla oceny zagrożeń naturalnych i indukowanych działalnością człowieka, w szczególności zagrożeń związanych z pozyskiwaniem energii i surowców. Dodatkową umiejętnością jest planowanie i wykonanie geofizycznego monitoringu stanu środowiska w czasie i przestrzeni. Absolwenci są przygotowani do pracy w przedsiębiorstwach geofizycznych, geologicznych i górniczych. Posiadają też kwalifikacje pozwalające podjąć pracę naukową w szkołach wyższych, instytutach PAN i jednostkach badawczo-rozwojowych. Ponadto są przygotowani do podjęcia studiów trzeciego stopnia (doktoranckich) dzięki temu, że posiadają wiedzę matematyczno-fizyczną i informatyczną w stopniu pozwalającym na kreatywną pracę.
Absolwenci kierunku Geofizyka znajdą pracę w przedsiębiorstwach o profilu geofizycznym i geologicznym oraz górniczym. Mogą samodzielnie pracować w terenie prowadząc prace pomiarowe. Mogą także pracować jako projektanci systemów do przetwarzania i interpretacji danych geofizycznych oraz geologiczno-górniczych. Ponadto mogą podjąć pracę w obserwatoriach geofizycznych oraz obsługiwać sieci sejsmometryczne w kopalniach węgla kamiennego i miedzi.
Jako osoby posiadające dobrą znajomość nauk ścisłych oraz narzędzi informatycznych mogą podjąć pracę także w innych instytucjach wymagających wyższego wykształcenia technicznego.
