Geoengineering and Borehole Mining
Kierunek Geoinżynieria i Górnictwo Otworowe ma na celu wykształcenie absolwentów o wysokich kwalifikacjach zawodowych, gotowych do sprostania wymogom stawianym przed inżynierem zarówno w regionie, Polsce, jak i innych krajach Europy i Świata. Istnieje bowiem bardzo duże zapotrzebowanie na specjalistów branży zajmującej się szeroko rozumianą geoinżynierią i górnictwem otworowym. Studenci mogą wybrać jedną z pięciu specjalności: Gazownictwo ziemne, Eksploatacja złóż surowców, Wiertnictwo i geoinżynieria, Zagospodarowanie i Ochrona Wód, Geoinżynieria i Geotermia. Absolwenci kierunku mogą pracować jako osoby dozoru i nadzoru prac geologicznych i górniczych polegających na: wykonywaniu różnego rodzaju otworów wiertniczych: poszukiwawczych, studziennych, naftowych, geotermalnych i przewiertów, eksploatacji otworowej oraz prac geoinżynieryjnych, jako projektanci i konstruktorzy instalacji związanych z eksploatacją ropy naftowej, gazu ziemnego, wód podziemnych oraz ciepła Ziemi, osoby nadzoru górniczego w urzędach górniczych, inżynierowie nadzoru i inżynierowie energetycy, konsultanci ds. problematyki zasobów energetycznych i ochrony środowiska, pracownicy biur projektów gazownictwa, pracownicy uzdrowiskowych zakładów górniczych, pracownicy firm geoinżynieryjnych, zakładów geotermalnych, osoby nadzoru BHP i ochrony środowiska w górnictwie otworowym, osoby nadzorujące proces wydobycia płynnych surowców energetycznych, inżynierowie nadzorujący udostępnienie i eksploatację wód podziemnych i ciepła Ziemi.
