Geodesy, Surveying and Cartography
W programie studiów II stopnia duży nacisk kładziony jest na rolę geodezji i kartografii w rozwoju gospodarczym państwa w szczególności w zakresie budownictwa, inżynierii lądowej, górnictwa, administracji państwowej i samorządowej, procesach gospodarki nieruchomościami i planowania przestrzennego. Geodezja i kartografia jako dziedzina interdyscyplinarna łączy te gałęzie gospodarki i jest istotnym czynnikiem wpływającym na ich prawidłowy rozwój. Celem kształcenia na drugim stopniu studiów kierunku jest nabycie przez studenta kompetencji z zakresu specjalistycznej wiedzy geodezyjnej dotyczącej pomiarów pozyskiwania, analizowania i przetwarzania danych przestrzennych związanych z pomiarami sytuacyjnymi i wysokościowymi powiązanymi ze specjalizacją zawodową w takich zakresach jak: Geodezja inżynieryjno-przemysłowa, Geoinformacja i geodezja górnicza, Geoinformatyka, fotogrametria i teledetekcja, Gospodarka nieruchomościami i kataster, Geomatyka.
Absolwenci kierunku Geodezja i Kartografia znajdują zatrudnienie w Okręgowych Przedsiębiorstwach Geodezyjno-Kartograficznych, w Miejskich Przedsiębiorstwach Geodezyjnych, w Wydziałach Geodezji i Gospodarki Terenami urzędów administracji państwowej, w urzędach administracji samorządowej, w przedsiębiorstwach przekształconych w spółki, w firmach prywatnych, w biurach projektów, w instytutach naukowo-badawczych, w szkolnictwie wyższym i średnim. Po ostatnich zmianach w naszym kraju powraca status zawodu geodety jako tak zwanego zawodu wolnego. Ten rodzaj pracy cieszy się dużym zainteresowaniem.
