Geoinformation
Absolwenci kierunku Geoinformacja są specjalistami posiadającymi umiejętności z zakresu rozwiązywania zadań analitycznych i technologicznych wymagających wiedzy z zakresu geodezji, kartografii, teledetekcji i inżynierii środowiska połączonej z umiejętnościami informatycznymi umożliwiającymi tworzenie nowych zastosowań geoinformacji. Absolwent kierunku „Geoinformacja” jest przygotowany do pracy w przedsiębiorstwach oraz instytucjach działających w sektorze informatyki, geodezji i kartografii, ochrony lub inżynierii środowiska, które zajmują się tworzeniem, zbieraniem, przetwarzaniem, zarządzaniem i udostępnianiem informacji, w tym informacji powiązanej z przestrzenią. Mogą to być m.in. przedsiębiorstwa wykorzystujące geoinformację, szczególnie w sektorach gospodarki związanej np. z planowaniem przestrzennym, zarządzaniem kryzysowym, geomarketingiem, telekomunikacją, energetyką, budownictwem, logistyką i transportem, ochroną środowiska, geologią, meteorologią i klimatologią i hydrologią. Dalsze kształcenie jest możliwe na studiach II stopnia stacjonarnych lub niestacjonarnych na Wydziale Geodezji Górniczej i Inżynierii Środowiska. Ponadto na kilku wyższych uczelniach w Polsce istnieją pokrewne kierunki studiów.
